The days have run out.  We now have just hours to get everything packed and ready for the movers arrival in the morning.
I pick Jon up shortly at the airport.  Hoping we won’t be up all night finishing what I didn’t get done while he was gone :-(
I’m not ready to leave tomorrow….in so many ways.

Party of the year.

The award goes to Jack and Amalie for the best birthday party of the year :-)
The party was at a children’s museum; an incredible place with endless things to do…one of those places I wish I’d known about two years ago!
Irleynd got to go grocery shopping and kayaking…she rode a horse and a seal, and was even an astronaut.  Best of all, she got to eat pizza and cake.
The birthday twins talented mom, Christy, made both cakes from scratch.  Pretty darn impressive if you ask me!

We had to say goodbye to Aunt Joanna this morning:-(
We all had so much fun together, and Joanna was a tremendous help (especially keeping Irelynd entertained). We only wish she could have stayed for a few more days!
Needless to say, she is going to make the most incredible mommy one day.
We love you and miss you already, Aunt Joanna.  Many thanks!!

Aunt Joanna came to town for a few days to visit and help keep me sane. :-)
She has been a tremendous help….I’ve accomplished more in the last two days than I have in weeks!
A big thank you to Uncle Taylor for loaning her to us for a few days.  Wish we could have seen you too!

Jon had a safe trip to San Diego.  Unfortunately, that was just one of two long road trips he will have to make before our move is all said and done.
While he gets into the swing of things out there, I am doing my best to wrap things up here; and praying for a miracle to happen with our house sale.

Mother’s Day 2008.

Jon set off this morning for CA, but not before giving me the best Mother’s Day gift a mom could ask for….the chance to sleep in for a bit.
There were also a few other surprises waiting.

My prayer and desire on this Mother’s Day and the many yet to come….
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth no the bread of idleness.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

Proverbs 31: 10, 25-31

The countdown begins.

This week flew by and it finally dawned on me…the realization that we are MOVING. Since we’ve known about the move for quite awhile, I just kept telling myself “we have until the end of May…plenty of time.”
So with Jon heading out tomorrow, and the girls and I leaving in less than two weeks, I’m starting to panic…just a little…but panic nonetheless.
It’s also beginning to sink in that we are leaving…for good…this place we’ve called home for the last two years.
Such a huge mix of emotions, but no time to really dwell on them. Probably a good thing.

The birthday girl.

Today is Haidyn’s first birthday.
In my mind she is still my tiny, newborn baby girl. There is just no way an entire year has gone by since she was born…it’s just not possible!
I’m sure I’ll be reminiscing more about our little Haidyn’s first year in the days to come.
Happy birthday little one…we love you sweet, baby girl.
