Sweet baby

I know it seems like I’m always complaining about our little Haidyn Grace, but she really is the sweetest little baby….dramatic, but sweet!  And this face melts me every time.

Four months

Filed under: Uncategorized — Kari @ 10:14 pm
Haidyn had her four-month well check today. She took the shots like a champ…only screamed for the last one :-( I was, though, a little disappointed in Irelynd’s lack of sympathy for her crying sister. I asked her to comfort Haidyn and give her a hug; instead she tried to steal Haidyn’s Tweety Bird band-aids and put them on her “boo-boo.”
As far as Haidyn’s height and weight, she has slowed down when I compare her stats to Irelynd’s first year stats (not that I’m comparing them:-) Today she measured 26 inches (75%), and weighed in at 15lbs, 3 oz. (70%). Irelynd was always off the charts, so I guess Haidyn will be our “petite” one. :-)

Problem child :-)

Haidyn got kicked out of the church nursery again today. She wasn’t even in there for ten minutes before they had to come and get me. She’s the baby that starts crying and gets the entire nursery screaming…..we are so proud.

Prayer for safe travel

Filed under: Uncategorized — Kari @ 11:24 pm
My father-in-law, Jay, will be leaving tomorrow morning for a trip to Africa. He will be visiting the countries of Ghana and Sierra Leone to meet with Campus Crusade’s African leadership. It will be exciting to hear how God is working in these African countries as Jay shares the journey through his blog. Check it out and keep Jay and his team in your prayers!

Easy silence

Although it’s been over a year now, it hasn’t been easy adjusting to life in Texas. This post would be fifty pages long if I started listing all the things I struggle with and that frustrate me since moving here. But because I don’t want to type fifty pages of complaints, and most of them are petty and ridiculous anyway, I will spare the details. What I will (briefly:-) share, though, is my daily realization of the wonderful husband God has blessed me with. Not only is he my husband, but he is my encourager, defender, sympathizer, and best friend all rolled into one handsome package! When I get fired up about something (which happens more often than it should lately) he always has a way of bringing a positive perspective to what otherwise would seem like an impossible situation. I love this man…I love his honesty, his genuine heart and his steadfast devotion to our family….so many things I love about him, I could go on and on. “He is my North, my South, my East and West, my working week and my Sunday rest, my noon, my midnight, my talk, my song.”
(as cheesy as it was, we had the photographer take a few “couple” pictures)
