I don’t know how this could be a comfortable way to sleep, but I sure think it’s cute! :-)

One last story

Irelynd was lucky enough to get one last story from Papa this morning, before he and Nana had to leave for the airport.
Have a safe trip home, Nana and Papa, and come back to see us soon!!

Ice Storm

Filed under: Uncategorized — Kari @ 9:21 pm
Nana and Papa are stuck with us for one more night due to a major ice/rain/sleet storm that is currently hitting Texas.  After a stressful afternoon of flight delays and cancellations, Irelynd did her best to make Nana feel better by whisking together a pot of “cookie soup.”

Good Times

Filed under: Uncategorized — Kari @ 10:18 pm
We have had a great time the last few days with Nana and Papa. Irelynd is not going to know what to do with herself when they leave tomorrow. As usual, they have spoiled her rotten….Nana says, “that’s what Nanas are for!”

Based on God’s direction, and our desire to follow His Word, Jon and I became members today of the church we have been attending for the last six months. We feel so blessed to have found this church where we have met a lot of wonderful and sincere people…so thankful to have found a new church home.
“All the believers were together and had everything in common.  Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.  Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts.  They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.  And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
Acts 2:44-47

…reading, and more reading!
Nana is being such a good sport reading Irelynd book after book. Irelynd loves to pull one book at a time off her book shelf, takes it to Nana to read, (“reading” typically means glancing briefly at the first page of the book) and then Irelynd is off to get another book..this pattern continues all day long, or until she is offered food!

N & P Lorenzen are here in Texas visiting us for a few days.  Irelynd was so excited to give Nana and Papa a tour of her house, and then it was off to the couch for reading time!

Baby Lorenzen

If there is such a feeling as grateful disappointment, that is what I am feeling at this moment. Had a 22-week ultrasound today and I am extremely grateful that the baby looks 100% healthy, and even a little ahead of schedule for weight and measurements. Now those of you who know me, know where the disappointment must lie. Yes, we are having another girl. Pretty much, no doubt….really couldn’t have been any more obvious that it’s a girl. I always pictured myself having boys; apparently God has other plans for us!
