Irelynd loves books.
.
Once a week, I take Irelynd to the local library and we check out an enormous bag of books.
.
We will read each book at least fifty times before returning them the following week.
.
‘Tatty Ratty’ though, we’ve probably read at least a hundred times this week…no joke. Irelynd LOVES it. I have to admit, it’s one of my favorites also. An imaginative story with wonderful illustrations.
.
Just in case anyone is in need of a good book!
-
We took the girls to ‘Seal Beach’ (La Jolla) this afternoon.
-
There were just a handful of seals sunbathing on the beach, and it was still quite crowded….so only Irelynd and I could get down close enough to really view the seals. We’ve been told that in the next couple of weeks the crowds will dissipate and more seals will return to ‘hang-out.’

Jonathan and Irelynd enjoyed an afternoon with friends at the Del Mar races. I was told Irelynd really wasn’t into the “race watching,” but they still seemed to have a good time doing other activities.
Irelynd did her own “racing.”

Irelynd surprised everyone by going down the giant slide.
It helped to have little Xani go first!
-
“Did I really just go down that slide?”

…of preschool for Irelynd.
-
I am down and out for a while with a herniated disc in my back, so I wasn’t able to actually experience dropping off or picking Irelynd up from her first day…woe is me:-(
Jon, though, did a great job filling in, and he even took some embarrassing ‘first day of school’ pictures for me. And fortunately Irelynd was quite eager to “talk” all afternoon and evevning about her first day, so I really didn’t feel too out of the loop.
-
Irleynd really was so excited about her big day. I think school is going to be her “thing.” She loves it…especially snack-time
-
Yes…that is a uniform on my three-year-old.
And yes….that is one of Irelynd’s teachers’, Ms. Lindsay. I think she looks too young to be a teacher, but I’m afraid it’s probably just me getting old!

Sunday, we took a day trip up to L.A. to help celebrate second-cousin Luke’s baptism.
-
First though, we stopped by to see Jessica, Nate and Gavin.
Gavin showing Irelynd how to use an iPhone!
Uncle Nate took us to his favorite restaurant…yummy!
-
After brunch, we were off to see baby Luke.
Baby Luke, Katelyn and Irleynd.
Aunt Kris, Uncle Ivan, Hans and baby Ella.
Irelynd and Anna.
Antonia and Erik (Luke’s mom and dad).
Antonia and Haidyn.
-
We are blessed to be close to so much family…love to you all!

Today was Irelynd’s final day of her pee-wee sports program.
She did very well during practice, but by game time it was
much like last week…a lot of standing and staring…grass picking and sky watching. She did, though, touch the ball one time during the game today!

One last “mighty, mighty race-trucks” cheer.
Water break.
Trophy time.
